I like this way of seeing a blog as a workbench which can feed the creation of other resources and products …
Whether it’s a personal blog, business, or even a new blog designed to attract an audience for a potential product or business, seeing your blog as a workbench can infuse new energy into your writing efforts.
Yes, you’re bringing value directly to your blog readers. But you could also be working toward something more …
Think about your blog as a workspace to conceive and develop your ideas
Good ideas are the currency of progress. They drive markets and economies.
We all know that writing is a powerful way to conceive and grow ideas. For me, something happens when I hit publish. I know that most anyone in the world with internet access can potentially read my content on their smart phone, tablet, or computer. This sense generates a nice, creative energy that tends to draw out what I hope is my best work.
You can also hear from those who visit your blog. They can reflect back and tell you their viewpoint. This is valuable information … you’re acquiring a feel for what people are interested in and what their needs are.
A workspace to generate resources and products
And here’s what’s powerful—the content you generate on your blog can be a source for creating other resources and products.
Right now, you may see yourself creating some of the products shown above. Maybe you can see them all now! What often happens is that as someone begins to create content over time, they eventually come to a level where they are interested in developing other resources. Don’t discount what you may offer in the future!
Let’s review these 3 ideas:
- Your blog is a perfect place to initiate and develop your ideas. Ideas move things and create value.
- Your blog is a space to hear feedback from readers. (Social media which points to your blog is another channel to hear from your readers.)
- Your blog is a powerful working space to generate content over time which can be re-purposed and shaped into other resources.
Are you blogging? If you’re an idea person of any type, you should be. If you have a desire to influence others in any way, or if you can see yourself creating something now or in the future, you should be blogging.
If you are currently blogging, how are you doing with your passion level? Do you have momentum or do you need to kick-start your writing again?
As you see your blog as a creative workbench, you position yourself to increase your influence, add more value to more people, and monetize your growing body of work.
